Tibber, a leader in smart home automation and electricity supplier, is shifting to more sustainable plastics to address their scope 3 emissions.  With this design goal in mind, the Pulse KM, Tibber’s newest real-time smart electricity reader, was made with Trifilon Revo.

In addition to being designed for a smarter and greener home, the Pulse KM is also designed to blend in and become almost an invisible heart rate monitor in the home.

Tibber’s use of Trifilon’s Revo instead of conventional ABS in this IoT smart reader means that they can realize an 80% reduction in CO2 footprint in the Pulse KM’s plastics.

Axkid, a trusted name in the world of child safety and car seats, is now pioneering a new era of conscious family travel.  With the launch of their Envirobaby range, Axkid’s infant car seats redefine convenience, safety, and what’s achievable in CO2 reductions.

With a focus on Swedish safety standards and innovative design, the Envirobaby seats offer parents an opportunity to make a more sustainable choice without compromising on quality.

Axkid’s use of Trifilon’s BioLite in this newly designed seat translates to a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional plastics.

The Swedish outdoor brand Silva presented the first liquid-filled compass in 1933, and already in 1935, the first headlamp – the Zeiler – was introduced. Ever since, Silva has continued to develop outdoor products for both world athletes and everyday adventurers.

Their new Terra Scout headlamp-series has been awarded best sustainable product by Scandinavian Outdoor.

The Terra Scout is the world’s first headlamp made from Trifilon's Revo biocomposite. Silva was able to update to a more eco-friendly material without sacrificing the durability or technical prowess that its Scout line is known for.

Did you know that every year approximately 1.000.000.000 umbrellas are thrown out?  As one of the pioneers in the umbrella industry, Knirps has since 1928 a history of innovation and a time-honoured tradition of making quality products.  With its latest release – the Vision– Knirps is now integrating sustainability and eco-design into their latest umbrella.

By incorporating Trifilon Switch, Knirps was able to eliminate all fossil-based plastic from the Vision series.  Not only is the plastic bio-based, but it is also compostable and will not leave behind persistent microplastics.

Knirps chose Trifilon Switch because it offered not just the toughness of traditional fossil based polymers, but also aesthetics that told the sustainability story.

Cake

The Swedish company CAKE, which makes popular designer electric motorbikes, took on a project to equip field rangers in anti-poaching efforts in the African bush. They designed the high-performance Kalk AP to help rangers cover ground quietly – the electric motor emits little sound.

As the anti-poaching efforts have a spirit of conservation, CAKE designed its bike with sustainability in mind equipping it with solar panels for recharging on expeditions in wild terrain.

And the bike needed a lightweight, strong material for its plastic components. CAKE worked with Trifilon to develop a custom Revo grade that fills out the bike’s eco-profile.

Lyft

Lyft, which produces a no-nicotine snuff or snus, wanted to begin working with sustainable packaging materials. Their highly-designed canister required a unique, high-performance biocomposite from Trifilon. That material forms the mechanically demanding product just as well as the original plastic recipe. But the new canisters, colored green, improve sustainability metrics, like the CO2 footprint, dramatically.

The plant fibers in the biocomposite even give the canisters a desirable haptic characteristic,
a warmer and more natural feeling.

And the canisters are still recyclable in regular plastic streams. Lyft sees this material as just the first step in a journey toward more sustainable packaging.

With a clear focus on long-term growth, Grimsholm realized that sustainability was an essential point for its Swedish and European customers.

Through a tight collaboration with Trifilon and its local injection molding partner, Grimsholm was able to move production back to Sweden and even lower its logistics C02 footprint.

The new bio-spike is made from Trifilon Switch, an innovative thermoplastic biocomposite made from renewable, non-GMO plant-based feedstocks that incorporates C02 sequestering hemp fibers sourced from eco-friendly EU farms.

Very Good & Proper

When the British furniture designers at Very Good & Proper (VG&P) were looking to make their debut outdoor collection, the company’s commitment to using sustainable materials was front and center. Named after the French word for the slats defining its design, the ‘Latte’ garden chair is a sustainable chair uniquely characterized by Trifilon’s specially engineered biocomposite material.

By incorporating Trifilon Revo, the ‘Latte’ chair’s CO2 footprint was drastically reduced and no new plastic was produced to create this outdoor chair.

In addition, the plants used to produce the hemp fiber capture carbon from the air as they grow, which further reduces the chair’s C02 footprint.

Gothenburg-based EPIC Travelgear knew eco-minded customers wanted a green choice when buying luggage. EPIC and Trifilon partnered to develop a high-impact biocomposite that delivers top performance for busy travelers. The PhantomBIO, the first biocomposite luggage in the world, was given a big thumbs up by the luggage market, gaining the most pre-orders EPIC has ever experienced.

By incorporating Trifilon’s BioLite into their PhantomBIO shell, EPIC was able to reduce each bags C02 footprint by 31%

Seeing a big response from customers EPIC now sees eco-material luggage as an expanding market.
